Hey elephant do you want some steak? Umm no, I only eat plants. Elephants are herbivores so they only eat plants. Did you know that, elephants spend eighty to ninety percent of the day eating? While they are eating almost the whole day they eat three hundred pounds of food a day. With that being said, they only digest forty four percent of that three hundred pounds. Their diet consists of seeds, tree bark, fruit, grass, branches, and leaves. Elephants like food because they travel about seven thousand, five hundred square miles to find food! When calves are born, they drink from their mothers for three years! So now you know some stuff about an elephant’s diet.
